Celine Dion is the biggest selling female artist of all time
More than 3 million people saw her in "A new Day" in Las Vegas over the last 5 years at her own Cesaers Palace Venue. Her album "Taking Chances" releasedwent Top 5 in every major market worldwide. Dave and I especially like her for her albums in French with Jean Jaques Goldman (a huge French aucustic guitar player and singing star ) Her Taking Chances Tour has covered 24 countries and 95 cities! Insane! Her 81 year mother is touring with them, the youngest of 14 children she asked the mothers in the audience to put themselves in "her shoes" (and I have a lot of them she says) Her mother first agreed to go on the world wide tour with Rene and their 8 year son by saying "do you need some help honey?" I think she has all the help she can get! Along with a personal trainer (she has the longest legs!) She's not much of a dancer but she works the stage with moves like falling to her knees and standing on the black grand piano with her full orchestra shredding some of the most popular hits of all time. This was her opening number.
I drove all night just to be with you- is that alright?
Celine -Taking Chances World Tour Salt Lake City last night!
Here's what she looked like , backup dancers and all. She opened with fireworks and "i drove all night" it was hair raising!
What a show! Click here to read more about the concert! What a schedule, every two days she is in a different city. Today she opened in Denver and tomorrow she will be in Omaha at Qwest Stadium. She sang 6 nights in a row to sold out Palais in Paris Borely! People still love her! She has a way to connect with her audience. WoW! She is in fantastic shape! How do you sing more than a decade of music and connect to every person in the (Delta) Center. She closed with (we thought what would gag me with a spoon if she sang it) Titanic "my heart will go on" and the crowd totally errupted! It was definately the "Finale", complete with Candle chandilers and 4 big screens with Leo & Kate in the I can fly scene on front of the ship- wind blowing Celine's dress and a moving stage.
